It is suitable for contractors, property maintenance teams, and serious DIY users who need reliable stripping performance across larger areas.

Coverage: approximately 3–6m² per litre, depending on coating type, timber condition, surface porosity, and application method.

  • Breaks down old decking oils, sealers, and selected timber coatings
  • Helps reduce sanding time during timber preparation
  • Suitable for horizontal and vertical exterior timber surfaces
  • Coverage: approximately 3–6m² per litre
  • Tested on common timber coating systems, including Intergrain, Cabot's, Cutek, Haymes, Feast Watson, Flood, Sikkens, and similar finishes
  • Ideal for decks, fences, pergolas, cladding, and outdoor furniture
  • Water-based formula; use safely around gardens and pets when applied strictly as directed
  1. Clear the surface area of dust, loose coating, dirt, and debris. Ensure the surface is dry before application.
  2. Wear protective gloves, safety glasses, suitable clothing, and a respirator. Apply only in well-ventilated outdoor areas.
  3. Shake the container well. Apply undiluted using a pump sprayer, brush, or roller.
  4. Keep the surface consistently wet. Reapply stripper or lightly mist with water as required to stop it drying out.
  5. Allow the product to dwell for 45–60 minutes. Heavier, older, or thicker coatings may require additional dwell time or a second application.
  6. Rinse using a petrol-powered pressure washer. For best results, use up to 3000 PSI with a minimum 11L/min flow rate.
  7. Where suitable, use a turbo nozzle and maintain a safe working distance to avoid damaging the timber.
  8. Work along the direction of the timber grain. Rinse thoroughly to remove all residue.
  9. Follow with Viccon Wood Rejuvenator to neutralise and brighten the timber before resealing.

Viccon Wood Finish Stripper is suitable for many exterior hardwood and softwood species. Always test first, as coating age, timber porosity, and previous maintenance history can affect stripping performance.

Compatible species include:

  • Merbau
  • Spotted Gum
  • Silver Ash
  • Blackbutt
  • Tallowwood
  • Jarrah
  • Ironbark
  • Cypress Pine
  • Treated Pine
  • Radiata Pine
  • Other exterior timber species used in decking, cladding, fencing, pergolas, and outdoor structures
  • Work in manageable sections of up to 30m² for better control
  • Avoid application in direct hot sun or temperatures above 35°C
  • Do not allow the stripper to dry on the surface during dwell time
  • Always test turbo nozzles on a small section before full use
  • Do not pressure blast at close range — keep the lance moving and at a safe distance
  • Thicker or stubborn finishes may require a second application
  • After stripping and rejuvenating, finish with a suitable decking oil or exterior timber sealer
