We manage personal information in accordance with the Australian privacy requirements that apply to our business.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you deal with SEALIX, we may collect:

  • your name, email address, phone number, billing address and delivery address;
  • account, quote, order, invoice, purchase, delivery and customer-support records;
  • payment method, payment status and transaction references;
  • product questions, project details, approximate deck size, photos, files and other information you choose to send us;
  • newsletter subscriptions, marketing preferences and communication history;
  • business details such as a company name and ABN when relevant; and
  • technical information such as IP address, device and browser type, approximate location, pages viewed, clicks, referring website and cookie identifiers.

Please do not upload identification documents, sensitive personal information or photos of people unless they are genuinely needed for your enquiry.

3. How we collect information

We collect information directly from you when you place an order, create an account, request a quote, submit a contact or photo-assessment form, subscribe to emails, visit the store or contact the SEALIX team.

We also receive information from payment providers, delivery companies and other service providers involved in completing your order or request. Website and device information may be collected automatically through cookies, pixels and similar technologies.

If you provide information about another person, please make sure you have their permission to give it to us.

  • meet accounting, record-keeping and other legal obligations.

5. Payments and online orders

Online payment options currently include card payments processed through Stripe and PayPal where offered at checkout. These providers process payment information under their own privacy and security practices.

SEALIX generally does not receive or store your complete card number. We may retain limited payment information such as the payment method, status, transaction reference and the details needed to reconcile or refund an order.

6. Cookies, analytics and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the website working, remember preferences, understand website use, measure advertising and help protect the site.

The website currently uses services including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, Plausible Analytics and Cloudflare analytics and security tools. Browser push notifications may be supported through Firebase when you choose to enable them.

These services may collect device, browser, IP address, page-view, interaction, advertising and conversion information. You can manage cookies through the website controls where available and through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect website features.

  • Stripe, PayPal and other payment or fraud-prevention providers;
  • couriers, freight providers and collection services;

SEALIX does not sell or rent customer personal information.

8. Overseas processing

Some technology, payment, analytics, advertising and communications providers operate global systems. Personal information may therefore be processed or stored outside Australia, including in the United States and countries in the European Economic Area.

Provider locations can change as their infrastructure changes. Where required, we take reasonable steps to use reputable providers and appropriate safeguards.

9. Security and retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from loss, misuse, interference and unauthorised access or disclosure.

Information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, customer support, warranty or dispute handling, accounting and record-keeping requirements, fraud prevention and other legitimate business needs. When it is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

No online system is completely risk-free. Please keep your account password secure and contact us if you believe your account or information may have been compromised.

10. Marketing and notifications

If you subscribe to SEALIX marketing, we may send product information, practical tips, offers or business updates. You can unsubscribe through the link in a marketing email or by contacting us.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop necessary order, payment, delivery or customer-service messages. Browser push notifications can be switched off through your browser or device settings.

11. Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, request access to it or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or out of date.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Some records cannot be deleted immediately where they are needed for active orders, accounting, dispute handling, security or other lawful record-keeping purposes.

12. Privacy questions or concerns

Contact us with a clear description of your request or concern. We’ll review it and respond within a reasonable timeframe.
