Why extra stripper is included: From SEALIX’s experience restoring decks over many years, smaller decks are often maintained more frequently and can develop a thicker build-up of oils, stains or sealers. This 30m² kit therefore includes 10L supplied as 2 × 5L containers to provide additional allowance for a second stripper application where the first application does not fully soften and remove the accumulated finish.

The pack quantities are selected to cover each stage of the restoration process. Application tools, a pressure washer and personal protective equipment are not included.

Not designed for: epoxy or two-pack coating removal, structurally unsound timber, or simply cleaning bare timber that does not require stripping.

This kit is configured for a deck area of approximately 30m², but the stated area is a planning guide rather than a guarantee.

• Old coating type, thickness and number of layers affect stripper consumption.
• Some heavily coated areas may require a second stripper application.
• Rough, weathered or absorbent timber uses more finishing product than smooth, dense timber.
• Measure the complete deck, including steps and other timber being coated.
• Do not stretch the finish beyond the manufacturer’s recommended spreading rate.

If the deck has multiple heavy layers or an unknown coating, test a small area before beginning the full project.

1. Inspect and test: identify the existing coating and complete a stripper test patch. Confirm it is not an epoxy or two-pack system.
2. Prepare the area: remove furniture, sweep the deck, protect nearby surfaces and vegetation, and wear the required protective equipment.
3. Strip: apply Viccon Wood Finish Stripper undiluted with a chemical-resistant sprayer or brush. Keep it wet during the approximately 45–60 minute reaction period.
4. Remove the coating: test whether the coating has softened, then pressure wash carefully with the grain. Reapply stripper to remaining coating where required.
5. Rejuvenate: apply Viccon Wood Rejuvenator evenly, allow approximately 15–20 minutes of contact time, agitate stubborn areas if needed, then rinse thoroughly.
6. Dry and inspect: allow the timber to dry completely. Complete a light finishing sand where raised fibres or remaining defects require it.
7. Seal: apply the complete Haymes Dexpress coating system shown on the product label. Apply thin, even coats with the grain and maintain a wet edge.

Weather, timber temperature and moisture affect application and drying. Always follow the instructions on the product labels supplied.

This kit creates a Polished Look with Haymes Dexpress Natural Deck Finish, but it does not contain UVEX Primer.

• Dexpress is a water-based, low-sheen deck and timber stain.
• This kit is supplied with Haymes Dexpress in Natural.
• If your timber or project requires the primer-based system, choose the matching “Prime & Seal” kit or ask SEALIX before ordering.
• Always test the finish on a small, inconspicuous area first.

• Read every product label and safety data sheet before use.
• Wear suitable gloves, eye protection, protective clothing and respiratory protection required by the label.
• Protect painted surfaces, metal, masonry, plants, pools and surrounding areas from chemical contact and rinse water.
• Keep preparation products wet only for their specified reaction time; do not allow them to dry on the surface.
• Use pressure-washing equipment carefully to avoid cutting or damaging timber fibres.
• Do not mix the products together. Rinse thoroughly between preparation stages.
• Do not apply finishing products to damp timber or when rain, unsuitable temperatures or heavy condensation are expected.

Why is extra stripper included in this 30m² kit?
Based on SEALIX’s experience over many years, smaller decks are often recoated and maintained more frequently. This can create a thicker finish build-up that may not be removed completely in one pass. The 10L supplied as 2 × 5L containers provides allowance for a repeat application where required.

Does this kit include tools?
No. This kit includes the preparation and finishing products listed above. You will also need suitable application tools, a pressure washer and the personal protective equipment specified on each product label.

Will it cover exactly 30m²?
Coverage is approximately 30m². Heavy coatings, repeat stripping and porous timber can increase the amount of product required.

Can it remove every coating?
No. Complete a test patch first. The stripper is not intended for epoxy or two-pack finishes.

Do I still need to sand?
The system is designed to remove the old finish chemically and by pressure washing, reducing heavy sanding. A light finishing sand may still be needed after drying to smooth raised fibres or correct remaining defects.

Can I apply the finish immediately after rejuvenating?
No. Rinse thoroughly and allow the timber to dry completely before inspection, sanding and finishing.

Why SEALIX recommends it: This kit is a practical Polished Look option when the timber is suitable for a Dexpress system without the separate UVEX Primer included.

• Choose it when you want a low-sheen, more uniform finish and the project does not require the primer-based kit.
• If the timber is dense, difficult, highly exposed or the correct system is uncertain, select the Prime & Seal kit or ask SEALIX before ordering.
• Preparation is the most important stage: remove the existing coating fully, rejuvenate, rinse and allow the timber to dry before finishing.
• Measure all deck surfaces before selecting the 30m² size.
