REDifill Water-Based Wood Filler 1L is a flexible, high-build acrylic wood and gap filler designed for interior and exterior use. The 1L size is practical for spot repairs, individual rooms and smaller deck-restoration projects. It is suitable for filling nail holes, cracks, chips, grain defects and small gaps before sanding and applying the final timber coating.

Choose one of the eight natural timber colours for a close starting match. REDifill colours can also be mixed together or adjusted with compatible colour oxides, concentrated tints or timber stains. Always make a test sample on an offcut and apply the intended coating before confirming the final colour, as timber finishes can change how the filler appears.

  • Suitable for interior and exterior timber repairs, including floors, decks, furniture, joinery and panelling
  • Fast drying: approximately 15–45 minutes depending on the depth of the repair and drying conditions
  • Flexible formulation designed not to shrink, sink or fall out
  • Easy to sand after drying
  • Can be painted, tinted, drilled and polished over
  • Provides a base for water-based, solvent-based, oil-based and wax-based coatings
  • Water cleanup while the product is wet
  • Non-flammable and described by the manufacturer as non-toxic
  • Timber floors and parquetry
  • Exterior timber and deck repairs
  • Furniture, doors, trims and joinery
  • MDF, particleboard, veneer and plasterboard
  • Nail holes, cracks, chipped edges, grain holes and small board gaps
  1. Ensure the surface is clean, sound and free from dust, oil and loose material.
  2. Select a colour that represents how the timber will look after its final coating. Test on a coated offcut whenever possible.
  3. Press REDifill firmly into the repair using a thumb, spatula or steel trowel. Leave the filler slightly proud of the surface.
  4. Allow approximately 15–45 minutes to dry. Deeper repairs, cool temperatures or humid conditions may require more time.
  5. Sand level using medium-to-fine sandpaper and remove all dust before coating.
  6. Clean tools with water before the filler dries.

For floors, parquetry or surfaces with many small grain holes, add a small amount of clean water and mix to a custard-like consistency. Apply across the surface using a rubber squeegee or steel trowel, allow it to dry, then sand the surface clean before coating.

  • Product type: water-based, high-build acrylic copolymer emulsion
  • Typical solids: 80–85%
  • Typical pH: 7.0–9.0
  • Viscosity: approximately 150 KU
  • Drying time: approximately 15–45 minutes, dependent on fill depth and conditions
  • Finish: smooth, tough and flexible after drying
  • Available SEALIX colours: Jarrah, Walnut, Mahogany, Oak, Mixed Hardwood, Blackbutt, Ebony and Natural
  • Colour-match before filling: a slightly darker match is generally less noticeable than a lighter repair.
  • When adding stain or tint, use small measured additions and test compatibility and final colour before full application.
  • This product is intended for filling and cosmetic timber repair; it is not a structural repair product.
  • Keep the lid tightly closed and store in a cool, dry place.
  • Use suitable gloves and eye protection. Control sanding dust and wear appropriate respiratory protection when sanding.

Why SEALIX recommends it: REDifill is a practical choice for repairing holes, cracks, joints and surface defects where a sandable, water-based filler is needed for interior floors or exterior timber repairs such as decks. Its natural timber colours make matching easier, and the cured filler can be tinted with compatible timber stains.

  • Best for: spot repairs, individual rooms, small deck repairs, nail holes and isolated defects.
  • Colour advice: choose the closest natural timber colour, then test the intended stain over a cured sample because filler and timber can absorb colour differently.
  • Application advice: work only on sound, clean and dry timber. Fill slightly proud where sanding is planned and allow the repair to cure fully before sanding or coating.
  • Pack advice: the 1L size is ideal when several small repairs are required without buying excess material.
