Restore, Protect & Maintain Your Timber Deck The Right Way

Professional timber preparation, oils, sealers and maintenance systems used by real deck restoration specialists — now available for homeowners and trades.

The mistake we see all the time

Most Deck Finishes Don’t Fail Because Of The Oil

Most failures start before the oil or coating goes on. If old coating, dirt, grey fibres, mould, tannins or weather damage are still sitting in the timber, the new finish cannot bond or penetrate properly.

That is why Sealix focuses on the full system: Prepare. Protect. Maintain.

Built from 13+ years on real decks

Sealix was created from the field experience of Viccon Coatings after more than 13 years restoring timber decks across Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula.

Every timber care system we recommend is based on real restoration work — not guesswork from a hardware store shelf.

The Sealix Way

Prep. Protect. Maintain.

1. Prepare

Clean, strip or rejuvenate the timber based on its condition. This is where most deck restorations succeed or fail.

2. Protect

Apply the right penetrating oil or film-forming finish for your timber, exposure and expected maintenance cycle.

3. Maintain

Clean and refresh the surface before it fails again. Maintenance is cheaper than full restoration.

Timber Care FAQs

Do I need to sand my deck first?

Not always. If the deck has old coating, heavy build-up or contamination, cleaning or stripping first may give a better result. Sanding is often best used as final surface preparation.

Should I strip or clean my deck?

If the timber is grey or previously oiled, deep cleaning and rejuvenating may be enough. If it has peeling, shiny or film-forming coating, stripping is usually required.

Can I restore my deck in one weekend?

Many smaller decks can be prepared and coated over a weekend if the weather is suitable and the correct system is used.

Can Sealix help me choose?

Yes. Send us photos of your deck and we can recommend the best preparation, protection and maintenance system.
