The Prime One Coat Sealer is built for exposed aggregate concrete driveways, paving, and outdoor entertaining areas. Its solvent-based, xylene formulation penetrates deep into the surface, binding and sealing to protect against dirt, oil, and contaminants while resisting weathering and UV damage.

Unlike multi-coat systems, this sealer is engineered to work in just one coat — saving time and money without compromising durability. With its penetrating action, it enhances the natural colour of decorative concrete, delivering a fresh, long-lasting finish that stands up to Australian conditions.

  • Solvent-based, xylene formulation for tough, lasting protection
  • Designed specifically for exposed aggregate concrete
  • One coat application saves time, labour, and cost
  • Enhances decorative colour and appearance
  • Protects against mould, algae, grime, oil, and stains
  • UV resistant for long-term colour stability
  1. Surface Preparation:
    • Ensure new concrete has cured for at least 7 days.
    • Pressure wash thoroughly (2000+ PSI).
    • Acid etch with diluted HCl (9:1 water:acid), then rinse well.
    • Allow surface to completely dry — moisture will cause whitening or adhesion failure.
  2. Application:
    • Stir well before use.
    • Apply neat, undiluted, to exposed aggregate only.
    • Use a quality 20mm NAP roller for even coverage.
    • Apply evenly without pooling.
  3. Resealing:
    • Clean as above, ensure surface is totally dry.
    • Apply Prime Exposure Xylene Blend first to reactivate existing sealer.
    • After 4+ hours drying, reapply One Coat Sealer.
  4. Curing & Traffic:
    • Allow up to 7 days to fully cure and harden.
    • Keep sealed areas free from vehicle traffic for 3–4 days.

Clean-Up: Wash all tools in Prime Exposure Xylene Blend and allow to dry.

  • Sealing freshly laid exposed aggregate concrete driveways
  • Resealing weathered exposed aggregate to restore colour and protection
  • Decorative outdoor paving and concrete in harsh weather conditions
  • Jobs where a fast, one-coat system saves significant time and cost
  • Apply only in temperatures between 10°C and 35°C.
  • Avoid sealing if rain or dew is expected within 3 hours.

  • Always ensure surface is bone dry before application.

  • Mix in Prime Anti-Slip Glass Beads on slopes or high-traffic areas.

  • Apply in smaller sections to maintain consistent coverage.
  • Is this sealer water-based or solvent-based?

It is a solvent-based xylene sealer, not acrylic or water-based.

  • What surfaces is it designed for?

It is specifically engineered for exposed aggregate concrete. Not suitable for flat trowel or slate impression concrete.

  • What coverage can I expect from 20L?

Approximately 70–80m², depending on porosity and conditions.

  • How soon can I drive on my driveway after sealing?

Allow 3–4 days before vehicle traffic, longer in cooler/humid conditions.

  • Will the surface become slippery?

Like all sealers, it may become slippery when wet. Use Prime Exposure Anti-Slip Glass Beads to reduce slip risk.

  • How long will it last?

With correct preparation and application, it delivers long-term protection and enhanced appearance for years.
